a few more videos ...

yesterday was a rest day, so before i make brunch for the gals, here's a few videos from denali ... and why i can't slack off on training and resting over the next 11 months.

hill on denali (somewhere around 12-14000 ft). This was a heavy carry and cache day around up motorcycle hill, squirrel hill, and then around windy corner to 14000ft camp. I'm leading the rope while Matt narrates. This was tough because the winds were really moving that day. But hey, it was clear out!

another carry and cache day ... nice "balmy weather" on the west buttress ... this weather is more common than the first video

... ever wanna know how we go to the bathroom on the mountain? well ... um ... Matt is happy to show you ...

i'm dorky, but i have fun...

i finally got the video off the camera ... this is me on one of the rope climbs for my post-workout on saturday. i was a bit pooped from the WOD earlier, so i scaled the rope climb from 18ft to 12ft ...

I know. I gotta work on it. This is very different than a fixed line ascent where the rope is thinner, you engage muscles differently, and you use different safety gear.

Matt had me try a newleg wrap way and here I was playing around with it. I’ll ask the coaches @ CFC to see what they think.

speaking of embarrassing moments ... here's another of me getting whacked by the tree ... yeah, not one of my more gracious rappelling moments ... i'm experienced enough as a climber/rappeller, i just thought this was funny given how the the cliff threw me around... never underestimate the rock!

i know. we're dorky, but we have fun

... and really ... isn't that what it's all about?
