fun fun fun! Today's workout incorporated
some of my favorite movements. I was really looking forward to this even
though I am not thrilled about the jumprope.
Strength: Hang Power Snatch 3-2-1-1 @ 70-80-90f-85-85
this is one of my favorite movements but i left ego at the door since i'm
still underweight. i worked on form because i'm trying to get myself back to
pre-expedition fitness - kept things simple and efficient. no use trying to
get a PR when i haven't lifted an oly bar in over 3 weeks. climbing a
mountain for 3 weeks does not a well-rounded crossfitter make.
Metcon @ 7:15
150 single-unders
30 power cleans
100 single-unders
20 sumo deadlift high pulls
50 single-unders
10 power snatches
went a little lighter on metcon (70# @ 7:15) to keep things simple. jumprope
isn't my forte, so I broke a number of times and had to string them along
steadily. but seeing these lifts for metcon made me smile with relief since
they're a little like backback-lifting movements and more natural for me.
I'm not super-fast, but steady and almost unbroken throughout. felt good,
moved good, it's all good. yay!
Post WOD: muscle-up practice. still working on keeping arms/hands close to
body for that transition into the ring dip - it's frustrating, but i'll get
there!
